SMS Terms & Policy

OperatorDirect provides automated SMS notification and messaging services to assist users who need emergency phone line access or contact information retrieval.

Single-item texts

When calling OperatorDirect, verified callers may request single items saved in their Help Kit (such as a non-sensitive contact phone number or address) to be texted directly to the phone they are calling from.

These messages are only sent upon explicit caller confirmation. Before sending any text, the assistant explicitly describes what item will be texted to the calling phone and asks for your confirmation.

Conversational SMS (when enabled)

Texting the line requests an AI assistant reply about recovery guidance or public numbers. HELP explains options. Signed-in owners can choose a temporary SMS session, re-enter their account password on the website, consent to the exact phone number receiving saved contact and service numbers, and confirm possession by texting a one-time pairing code from that number. Access expires after 15 minutes.

The SMS assistant can offer fixed recovery checklist items, saved only after the next exact “Save it” reply. It cannot reveal sensitive Help Kit fields, send messages to contacts, place calls or rides, or change security settings. Never text passwords, PINs, medical details, account numbers or booking codes. SMS providers and anyone with the phone may see messages. This is not an emergency service; call emergency services directly.

Message frequency varies with requests, subject to limits. Message and data rates may apply. Text UNLINK or RESET to clear the conversation and account access. STOP opts out; START resumes SMS replies without restoring account access. No conversational SMS transcript is saved to the app database: short-lived context expires within 15 minutes. Provider receipt IDs are retained for seven days to prevent duplicate processing; keyed opt-out records are retained to honor preferences. Provider retention is separate.
