Your operator never acts without your say-so.
  1. Dial the OperatorDirect line.
  2. Say your own account phone number digit by digit, including the area code. If using the keypad instead, enter the number then press #. For an international number, include the country code. Use your number, even when you're calling from someone else's phone.
  3. Enter your OperatorDirect PIN, then press #, or simply say it digit by digit (for example, “two four six eight one oh”).
  4. After the tone, say your passphrase clearly.
  5. Once you're verified, tell the assistant what you need.

If the number you're calling from links to exactly one account, the line goes straight to the PIN prompt, without asking you to press or say one. A locked account keeps the initial choices so you can use another account or website sign-in. Silence repeats the PIN prompt, subject to the existing no-input limit. Say menu at that prompt for account choices, website sign-in or signup, up to three times per call. Opening the menu does not reset verification or account-change limits. If this is a shared or reassigned phone, use your own account. At the ordinary call PIN prompt, say different account or press star, then pound to change accounts, up to three times per call. Changing accounts does not reset failed verification attempts. This option is unavailable during website sign-in or scheduled callbacks. Follow the prompts to finish verification. Calling from the app opens your phone calling app; being signed in does not verify the phone call. You can speak your account choice, phone number and PIN without opening the number pad. Once verified, recognized callers hear a short next step; current rides, recent help and trips still take priority. Register your other phones (home, work, a partner's) under Calling numbers in Phone & profile so the line can recognize them too. Shared phones are allowed. If a number links to more than one account, the line asks you to enter your own account phone number without listing accounts. Registering a number does not verify ownership. You still enter your PIN and say your passphrase, except when the usual recently verified callback rules let you skip the passphrase. Removing a registration affects future caller-ID recognition, not an active call or the existing callback window.
